So I've decided to do something different and play power pop for a little while, along the lines of Cute Is What We Aim for, Boys Like Girls, and All Time Low. My question is, what would be a good pedal to get that power pop distortion, the kind that basically sounds like a marshall? I used to have Marshall, but traded it off for my 6505+, and i have no money for another marshall head. So any recommendations on pedals?

i find this site very helpful: http://www.uberproaudio.com/content/category/6/20/38/
its an archive of the equipment famous artists use
In speed versus emotional playing, i think of an M16 versus an M24. You can have 650 rounds per minute, or one round, one kill. Both should be in your arsenal.

The reason im looking into pedals is to run it into my valve jr stack, since its plenty loud enough.

I think the crunch channel could work.

crunch channel with a tad less gain and lots of mids should do the job nicely tbh
