I was just curious... I know there are some vocal teachers here in this forum and I was wondering, can you tell what a student is doing right or wrong by hearing them alone? Or do you have to physically see them singing to advise them? I'm just wondering if you could in theory teach somebody how to sing properly "on-line" via streaming or skype or some other voice technology or if you really need to be there to see the student in order to know what they are doing right and wrong.

Any thoughts?
Hearing tends to be how most do it, however for vocal warmups they occasionally need to watch your jaw to see if its moving when its not supposed to.

You probably could via Skype, i bet there's people who do it. You can get therapy online, i don't see how this is any different
