Hey everyone,

I have a Peavey Heritage VTX combo with a rattling speaker. Upon further inspection I noticed that the cone is partially detached from the frame of the speaker. A little bit of duct tape helped a bit, but I'm sick of low notes making the amp buzz.

Here's my question: is it worth it to re-cone the speaker, or should I just get a new speaker? If so, what kind of speaker should I look into? The amp is a 130 watt hybrid (SS preamp, 4 6L6s in the power amp), it's a 212 combo, and the stock speakers are Peavey Scorpions. And if it helps, I REALLY like a thick low end.

Eh, I feel like I can do better than v30s. Anything else?
