i just finished Perks of Being a Wallflower this morning around 4am.
it was a great book, really moving.

i've been reading a lot of books lately, and now i think i want to read some short stories instead.

anyone have some they'd recommend?

i like reading stuff like catcher, perks, clockwork, the curious incident of the dog in the night time.

i'd prefer some that i may be able to find online. as i don't really want to go buy books atm/ i need to save money for college.

what short stories have you enjoyed?

The Tell-Tale Heart - Edgar Allen Poe

Can't go wrong with Poe, though I prefer The Cask of Amontillado. Also, The Lottery by Shirley Jackson is very good, as is The Monkey's Paw by W.W. Jacobs

EDIT: To the guy that said Harry Potter, this must now be posted:

Reminds me of that drunkard who ran out of beer... he was so desperate, he drank furniture polish.

He came to a horrible end... but a beautiful finish.

The Darth Bane Series of Starwars books. It's by the same guy who wrote mass effect.
very compelling books. I was amazed that I wanted to read it.
I let you get away so cleanly.

No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy is simply brilliant. And I don't wanna seem lame, but the Left Behind series of books is great.

Roald Dahl has a fine collection of adult short stories which I've quite enjoyed. Also, try Trainspotting; it's basically a collection of short stories that combined make a more wholesome plot, not to mention it's hillarious trying to get used to the Scottish writing style.
