Hey guys! Did you know? Soft Serve apparently doesn't have any pig fat in it. Now, I've been trying out vegetarianism for the past 3 months, and so I steered clear of the stuff, but now, I shall go get a thickshake in celebration!

Did anyone else know about this?

Yes it does

"Soft serve is generally lower in milk-fat (3% to 6%) than ice cream (10% to 18%)"
And it's frozen yogurt which is made from milk anyway.

EDIT: Wait, pig fat?
Why would ice cream have pig fat in it?
maybe if you had a

you'd

Milk fat is fine for vegetarians that still eat dairy. By pig fat he'll most likely mean fat from a dead pig.

Yeah I realized that after I posted. (see the edit? )

Anyway, what the hell kind of ice cream has pig fat in it?

Well I caught your silly. I CAUGHT YOUR SILLY DAMMIT.

Either ways, no ice cream with pig fat off the top of my head, but I reckon there will be some, mainly those ice creams with bits and pieces and extra flavours, so not really the ice cream, but the added bits, like the polar bears in Ben & Jerry's.

I'm trying to figure out if that was an innuendo for something.

I'm just going to assume it is.

So if you put bacon in your ice cream, then it would be a no-no?

...

I can only assume by pig fat he means gelatine, which is made from cow hoofs and a common ingredient in sweets and a binding agent for things like gummy bears and ice cream.

I doubt it's good for you whether it contains animal parts or not

Carageenan is a much more common substitute for gelatin in ice cream these days, it seems. Which is made from seaweed. Guar gum is also used a lot more.

I love pig fat. I eat it all day long. I use it as lubrication. I throw it at the neighbour's cat.

No, seriously, what is the problem with pig fat?

That's what's in it. Anyway, it was always circling around when I was a kid (being innocent and gullible as we all were), and so ever since starting this I've stopped with the thickshakes and stuff. Ah well, having a McDonalds caramel sundae as we speak. It's good. Tastes like success and knowledge

Seaweed is not a plant.

Never said they were. But they aren't "animals" either. Protists are the retarded ginger stepchild frankensteins of the natural world.

Wasn't specifically directed at you.

But yeah, protists make me go wtf?

Andrew Zimmern went to a place like this on an episode of Bizarre Foods. They had tobacco flavoured ice cream as well.
