So I listen to a lot of Elliott Smith, and I really like the sound/tone of his guitar playing. Recently I found out what he plays, and that is a Yamaha FG180. Really old guitar, cheap, and apparently hard to find nowadays. So I was wondering, if I couldn't find an FG180, is an F310 similar?

I'm not looking for cheap guitars because I'm a beginner, I just don't want to spend a lot of money on an acoustic guitar.

Looks like they're about the same specs (all laminate, spruce top, mahogany back/sides). Can't go wrong with any Yamaha, IMHO, they're great guitars.

Alright, thanks. I'll hunt around for an FG180, check eBay and such, but I might just end up getting a F310. Thing is, I want a beat old old guitar, rather than a new shiny one. Kind of sadistic, no?
