I have bought a gold bigsby b5 copy (i know i need a real one but this looks the part for my school project) and was wondering if the actual tension spring was actually attached between the arm and bridge somehow or if it just stayed there from the tension of the strings. Also do the ball ends of the strings go around the little stick things on the bottom? Is there anything i should know before installing it besides the fact that i shouldn't use a cheap copy lol
The string's ball ends slide onto the pins, over the back bar, under the front bar, then over your bridge. You might consider a roller bridge for better tuning and intonation. Locking tuners or locking nut will help keep the system in tune too.
The spring is held in place by tension.
