I'm underweight pit.

Anyone else share this trait with me?? I'm 17 years old, btw.

Poll coming,
Discuss, please.

EDIT: Thanks for the motivation, pit.

It's genetics, I don't have eating disorders, I eat just as much as anyone else. It's not a matter of protein or carbs, and I'm not a vegetarian or anything. I'm just naturally underweight.

Also, BMI Calculator

I'm 18.8, which, apparently is a normal weight. Barely.

We're roughly the same height and age, yet you're 35 pounds lighter.

I weigh closer to twice as much as you than I do to 135 lbs.

What? If that's true, I'm underweight.

Spoiler: I'm clearly not underweight.

I'm about the same, but an inch shorter. We're both on the low end of the "normal weight" BMI range.

That was a confusing sentence...

If I understood correctly, me too.

I'm about 5' 8", and I'm 118.

Strangely enough, I was this way before becoming a vegetarian; however, since becoming one, I think I may have stopped growing.

I do. I don't mind. I eat whatever I want, as much as I want, and it's like I never ate anything at all.

I'm the same way. I have a horrible diet, yet I'm probably at the lower end of average.

Yeah; they don't account for whether it could be fat, or muscle.

Or just a bigger person in general. They give men bonus points because they're just "bigger" than women, but some men and women are bigger or smaller than other of the gender. Just in body structure and stuff.

Dude, you're 17. I am 6' 6" and about 210, but when I was 17 I was the same height roughly, and only about 160 lb. I didn't do anything special but I put on lots of muscle mass. It's a natural thing when you get older. It will happen to you eventually. Also, when you get to university, you will put on weight. It's not avoidable. Everyone does. Good times.

Depends on your body composition. You could be a bag of bones, or you could just be very lean. That makes it hard to say. You might not have much muscle and have a relatively high bodyfat percentage. No way to tell unless you take measurements/post pics. I'm 154 pounds at 5'11, and while thats underweight to alot of people at the same height i'm lacking muscle in my legs in a very bad way. I'm still at about 19% bodyfat.

I'm just shy of 6'0 and 140lbs. It's great, I eat junk food all the time and I couldn't get fat even if I tried. I don't have a problem with this at all.

That bmi calculator thing that TS posted doesn't make any sense. I'm 6'2 260lbs but I'm not "obese" I just work out.
#31
5' 7", 110 pounds. My metabolism loves me a bit too much.

I eat a lot, but I've never made it over the 50kg mark. I've tried exercise to help (ongoing for years, which I still do to stay decently fit) and eating larger amounts less often to slow down my metabolism, but none of it's really worked. I'll probably visit a specialist soon to figure something out.

EDIT: Just turned 17 this month.

You're not eating enough. Eat more, and you'll put on weight. You're not putting on weight either because you're very active, and this offsets how much you eat, or you're just not eating enough even though you think you are. It's very rare for someone to have a metabolism high enough that they don't put on weight despite eating alot.

You can't slow down your metabolism. When you eat food, your body will begin digesting the food and your metabolism will pick up. No matter how much or how little you eat, your body will raise its metabolism to a rate that'll burn roughly 10% of all calories you've taken in. So, if I eat 6 small meals of 500 calories, or 3 big meals of 1000 calories, i'd be burning the same amount of calories regardless. IIRC, the rate at which your body speeds up its metabolism is 10% of the amount of food you've taken in.
