18 Years

I'm growing older now but never growing up
Still not worthy to drink from the old man's cup
18 years since the day you met this earth
18 years now and you can finally prove your worth
Prove to this world, do everything you can
Prove to this world, that someday, you will be a man
This room, a perfect tomb, to lay your dreams to rest
Join the competition like a monkey beats his chest

It's been 18 long years, and I'm finally finding my voice

F*** that! I will never be a man
A Life of predictability was never in my plan
I won't let these dreams and talents, won't let them go to waste(line repeated)
Hit the van, here we go, hit the road, here we go
All along this great nation, every show is a celebration

It's been 18 long years, and I'm finally finding my voice

Ok, maybe someday I'll be a man
Two kids, a wife and a dog named Sam
But until then... I don't give a damn!

It's been 18 long years, and I'm finally finding my voice

This started out very nice. As soon as you hit the f-bomb though, it just went downhill. well, maybe not all of it, but that stanza (with the f-bomb) seems like the flow is kinda sacrificed. It might just be how I'm reading it, but it doesn't to fit as well as the first stanza. It was decent, but imo, was nothing incredible. With some tweaking though I think it could be. C4C? Check the sig.
