There is a cable that connects your speakers to your amp, inside the box of the Deville, take the end out of the amp, and put it into the new amp, although you need to make sure that the Ohms of the amp match that of the speakers, also that the overall wattage of the 4 speakers combined is equal to or greater than the wattage of the amp.

Keep in mind that if you do this, you're no longer using the Deville amp, and so you wont be getting any sounds from that anymore, sorry if that's mind numbingly obvoious, just saying

right the new head will go thru the speakers. Is this common? Do people do this or is this dumb? I want to do this so i can switch between sounds of deville and say marshall or black heart. Something with nice distortion not so frickin loud LOL. I would never get my $ that i [paid for deville. All 4 speakers say 8 ohms and 30 watsts there is 4 10's

if u need specific stuff i got the instruc. book.
im looking for a nice marshall blues tone head. Think hendrix, slash. Not a huge price but also a option to play at 5w/15w/30 etc. But with really nice distortion enough to do ozzzy and some nice metal.

Your idea isn't really practical. Switching between two amps with one speaker cab isn't easy or cheap, and a marshall-style head won't sound very good with those speakers anyway. You'd be better off getting a different amp.
#9
If the speakers are of a good overall quality - a marshall will sound great through the speakers of your Deville, if its an old or custom-built head. New builds tend to sound right onlty through marshall specificly designed speakers. It's a marketing move.
But any non-marshall will do I believe.

Regarding the switching between amps. NEVER turn on power of the amp without proper load connected. If you want to have your amps warmed up, and they have the standby switch, then be sure to swap amps when they are standing by.

So to switch for example from deville to a head you`ll need to:
1. Turn off Deville. (or Stand By mode)
2. Change the cable manually.
3. Turn on the head.

My deville is brand new. What mAx watts and ohms. What amp head is ok to hook up to it.

Wait so you bought a new combo amp so you can hook a head up to it
#14
If it's really brand new, you should be able to take it back and exchange it for something else that fits your style better.
#15
its like 4 or 5 months old. got it at guitar center. I sent them a email asking to return it. Maybe theyll take it back may be not. I bought it in april or march.

i would sell the deville (it is a sick loud amp)

and buy a fender superchamp for $300 or a peavey vypyr for $450.

or a jet city ja20 combo or a eganter tweaker

(the reason we are telling you that is because most fender amps have a sick amount of headroom before you get distortion so you have to crank them up like seriously loud and then it is no fun. get a different amp)

fender blues jr is my fav Fender 15w blues/rock amp. and the superchamp

You won't get more than $550 for it. And that's if you're lucky. I sold mine for $500. Why would you buy the warranty? That's always a terrible idea.

dude

you are either trolling us or you have no clue

why spend $1100 on an amp that doesn't fit what you need, to only then pay the extra warranty, to then buy another amp head to run into it as a cab.

sell it.

take your loss

start over

otherwise, buy an MI Audio Crunch Box type distortion pedal and work off of pedals.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

You wouldnt need to turn it down, you could sell the secrets to emailing the dead. Then buy a dumble.

Orange thunder 30 man,

http://www.humbuckermusic.com/orth30guamhe.html

switches down from 30 to 15 and 7.5 watts.

On another note arent the volume pots in the hot rods linear taper? Which would pretty much solve the volume problem. Just get someone to stick audio taper pots in it. Make the volume increase alot more gradual.

I emailed fender and they said I could mode but he couldn't tell me . Cause fender doesn't recommend modding. I might get. Bulgars 55 watt head for 300
