This song is almost impossible to answer in my opinion.

So many songs I find so beautiful, I wouldn't even know where to begin. I guess Stairway to Heaven is one of the first that come to mind.
If anyone has heard something more beatiful than Fade Into You by Mazzy Star please let me know, as I do not think it is possible to make a more bautiful song.

Pink floyd - Wish You Were Here

HAHA, no seriously. What DO you use a signature for?

It's better w/ the solo at the end

Oh definitely, but I think the acoustic version is prettier. Both versions are excellent though.

that's by The Queers. :/
I find Opeth's mild stuff to be beautiful. Benighted is one of the best and most beautiful songs ever and all of damnation is awesome.

well as one of the earlier posters said beauty is highly subjective. i find beauty for sure in songs like pearl jam's "black" neil youngs "after the goldrush" or wilco's "impossible germany" but really i find beauty in songs that you can feel that the writers made it highly emotional and personal. also alot of time i find beauty in troubled dissonant songs because in my mind songwriting is at its best when writers let their minds/souls/hearts spill directly onto the page...and personally my mind is rarely a simple pretty melodic song all the all that being said i love sonic youth's "theresa's sound world" or wilco's "misunderstood"

so if u dont feel like reading that whole dialogue on my tastes my answer(s) are "impossible germany" and "misundertood" by wilco "theresa's sound world" by sonic youth "black" by pearl jam and neils young's "after the gold rush"
I cum blood lololololol

okay but seriously, Lazarus by Porcupine Tree (its probably already been said)

This... so beautiful. I was totally not in the mood for that kind of song, yet it put me right into another state of mind. Thanks.

As I said earlier, naming only one song is pointless. But in order to contribute, I've always loved the unexplainable nostalgia expressed by this piece:

Yann Tiersen - Comptine d'un autre été

One of the most beautiful melodies I know, and one of the very few songs that make me want to cry every single time. Automatically brings back happy childhood memories. So sad.

It's by the Queers, not Screeching Weasel. What's the difference though? .
