Hey guys, I tried to google this but couldn't get any sort of definitive answer so I thought I'd ask here and see if anybody has had any first hand experience.

I live in the UK and want to know if I disable cellular data or take out my SIM card, can I use Wifi for free like an Ipod Touch abroad in America?

Without a charge from my Network?

(assuming I'm using free wifi from somewhere like McDonalds)

If anybody can shine a light on this I'd be very grateful so their help.

Thanks!

Jailbreaking it and unlocking it would be one option, which I highly recommend if your warranty is up. So much cool and most of the time free apps and such can be had.
