Well, for us americans, the 4th is coming up (our independence day), so i though this would be a good time to ask a question about our national anthem. many rock and metal guitarists/ bands have covered our national anthem, and i want to know, lets not be bias by who your favorite aritist is or whatnot, honestly, who has the best version? I would say that vai's was very good, but i can listened to Iced Earth's easier, as it sounds very polished. whats your opinion? (someone will bring it up that zakk wylde, one of my favorite guitarists did it too. i personally didnt like it, as it didnt sound anything like the original...i just added this to prove im not bias)

I'm always torn between Hendrix's studio mix of it , his Woodstock performance, and Iced Earth's. I've heard Zakk Wylde's, but it just didn't do it for me.

I don't think he did enough vibratos....

Indeed. I also found his performance lacking of tremolos.

I've got to say, Vai's wins it for me, with Jimi's a close second. To be honest, I don't really like Zakk Wylde's at all, partly because his tone is abysmal (to my ears).

Iced Earth's is far and away my favourite. It just sounds so polished and massively epic compared to the other ones I checked out. Flows into 'Declaration Day' so well too

I did it once. A rift opened up in the music room and I was warned by the gods that I was tampering with powers beyond my control.

True story.

I made a trance cover

i think i might upload it to my pro later.

I don't like our national anthem though, it's piss annoying.
Now the soviets had a pretty anthem, shit country though, I say we should've stolen the anthem when they fell.

Actually if anyone cares to hear my subpar cover
