paul gilbert-the curse of castle dragon :-( i got all the notes down but i cant play all of it up to speed! i either trip or some parts sound all noisy and unclear!

so i think i'll put the track aside now and work on the tough parts to speed them up bit by bit
but in the mean time can anyone suggest another instrumental track that would be easier than that and at the same time help me to work on my picking? preferably something also neoclassical and with no sweeps,im more interested in improving my picking at the moment and all the stuff i know is either too hard or too easy!

thanks in advance!

I've been using these lessons recently,

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/lessons/guitar_techniques/speed_playing.html

It helps a lot. I've also been trying to learn that song. The stuff in this lesson should help. Also theres a video somewhere on youtube with Paul Gilbert showing how to play parts of the song.

No way. I can play Rusty Old Boat pretty easy, but Curse gives me trouble.

Just keep at it.

eh, let's see:

Satriani - Always with me, always with you
Satriani - Summer Song
Satriani - Crystal Planet
Satriani - Circles
Satriani - Memories (killer track, really is)

Gilbert - Bultaco Saturno
Gilbert - I Cannot Tell A Lie

Timmons - Deliver Us
Timmons - Super 70's
Timmons - Resolution
Timmons - Beautiful Strange
Timmons - Carpe Diem
Timmons - Electric Gypsy

Should get you somewhere.

Yeah I know, none of it is actually neoclassical, but if you can play those ( I can look for way more, this is just off the top of my head ) you'll be running through Curse of Castle Dragon in no-time.

Antonio Vivaldi's 4 Seasons Summer the guitar version... Its short bursts of alternate picking, pretty good practice... Or Malmsteen's Far Beyond The Sun... Loads of alternate arpeggios
"I've Been Imitated So Well I've Heard People Copy My Mistakes"- Jimi Hendrix
