It's good. There are other expensive amps as well. It's top of the line. Same reason a Ferrari costs more than a mini van.
#6
Because people actually pay that much.

If Mesa could charge $10,000 for that same amp, they definitely would.

You can buy whatever guitar you want, you don't have to be at a certain skill level to buy one. This is real life, not some guitar-playing RPG where you have to unlock new guitars.

The wood used on the frame is dyed with the blood of 1000 japanese virgins, sacrificed on the 3rd full moon of each year.
The circuits are imprinted with handpicked hairs from a 15-year-old silverback gorilla.
Finally, the leds are made with fireflies crystalised on diamond shards.

Yo shut the f**** up, the insane channel is awesome, and with my DS-1 its even more awesome, you don't what your talking about, you're just hoping in the Line 6 dandwagon, you suck dude.

But yeah, I was ironic, if you check my profile I don't even have a line 6
Anyway, TS, like the others said, the Mark V is at a very reasonnable price for what it does, it's quality products, and quality products always cost a lot.
#22
If you think about it they are fairly priced compared to Bogner's and Diezel's.
And they are competitively priced compared to Marshall and the Fender EVH.

So why do they cost so much IMO they don't.
If you start a reply with: I have never played one but I have heard good things about it! Your opinion is invalid.

And no my gear doesn't suck BTW

Given the choice though which would you take - the Mark V or the VH4? The VH4 is about £150 cheaper than the Mark V, at least in Europe.

But do you think the VH4 is as good as the Mark V ? The Mark V is really a great amp regardless of the price difference.

I can only comment on the Mark V, we have these along with everything else that Mesa has to offer where I work and they are worth the price.
#35
Just like any boutique combo amp (Fuchs, Budda, Divided by 13, Komet, etc...) the price tag comes from the quality of parts and craftsmanship. They aren't thrown together on an assembly line and played on one setting before boxed up.
