I just got a new Ibanez Hollow body today.
It's an amazing guitar for the money, but for some reason, The top three strings have a harsh high pitched ringing that accompanies the actual pitch.

I'm going to try a new pair of strings, but can anyone give any other solutions in case this doesn't work?

I'm not sure what it means but it might not be feedback. Are you playing with high treble or distortion?

It doesn't come through the amp, but I can hear it coming from the guitar itself.
If I strum it acoustically, that's when I really hear it.

ringing? that usually means sustain which isnt a bad thing.
do you mean buzzing? there might be something loose on the head of the guitar, maybe the bridge to the neck.

Hmmm, if the strings are fairly new it could just be harshness and they will soon wear in. Is there anyway you could make some basic recording so we can identify what's up?
