I posted this in The Pit cuz I don't know where else to put it lol. But i've been playing guitar for a little bit now (5 or 6 years) and never payed much attention to how I've sounded (like with distortion, effects, etc.). I recently went from a metal band to more of a rock band. We play stuff like Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Alter Bridge, etc etc.

Anyways the question is: how much distortion should I use?

I got three Boss pedals (Metal Zone, Distortion, Over drive/Distortion). My cousin also lent me his half stack (and alot of other gear) for a little so I can get things going with the band and get a job. Its an old Crate though, not exactly sure what model cuz it's at our practice spot. I'm going for a sound basically like the bands I mentioned above, but I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to distortion.

Max all gain and turn treble and bass to 9 with mids to zero.. Use all the pedals like this at the same time.

Time on earth is like butterscotch; you really want more, even though it will probably just make you ill.
