Hi guys,

I've recently started listening to metal and I can't figure out how to count the gallops they perform, for example, i'm trying to figure out the gallops in the intro of "Rain" by Trivium. I can't figure out the rhythm. How do you guys count them?

ps. By count, I mean for eg. 1 e+a 2 e+a etc

Like most guitar exersizes, start shit slow till its boring.
do it more
then speed it up
do it more
speed it up
so on so forth

First get it right, if you make a mistake, slow it down.

Boring as shit but youll get it

1(e)+a2(e)+a3(e)+a4(e)+a

A 8th note followed by two 16th notes.

A reverse gallop (like in "Raining Blood" by Slayer) is two 16ths followed by an 8th:

1e+(a)2e+(a)3e+(a)4e+(a)

So what? I wasted like 5 minutes watching DaddyTwoFoot's avatar.

Metalheads are the worst thing that ever happened to metal.
