When browsing the net this afternoon, I came by this interesting piece of fiction:

Man talks with 'god'

I think it merely is an amusing story, surely with some nice insights, but I can't take it seriously. If you have the time, read it. If not, well... Then don't.

maybe it's because of your description, or the fact that it's 1:30am here, or both, i can't stop giggling.

Sometimes girls say that too...

If you read the whole thing and comprehended it, you would understand. God chose not to reveal himself to the entire world because his intervention would leave us ill-prepared for further stages of civilized development. He chose Stottle because he knew Stottle was interested in God from an academic perspective, and not as a religious-nut. God mentioned he desires conversation with the different species, and he figured Stottle would be rational when speaking with him.

So the guy did acid and met a tramp on the bus?
...Stapling helium to penguins since 1949.

Interesting read. One of the comments was even more interesting...

"harry stotle + comical English accent + omg = ‘arry stotle > Aristotle = logic + empiricism + classification = best parts of modern western thought = how to not be argued with + (h)Aristotles parents MOTHER MARY and FATHER PAUL"

Well, I am God and I certainly don't remember this. I call bullshit.

I can't believe I just read all of that.

It's interesting, at the most. Assuming that it was real, we're in the universe with (just under) 14 billion species, some species spanning across galaxies, where each and every individual is capable of destroying the entire race due to.. what was it, genetic warfare? Digital warfare? Whatever it was, us humans are only in phase 1 of evolution, where other organisms are billions of years ahead of us.

But I do like how it satisfies both ends of the spectrum, evolution and creationism. God set the universe on fire, and let everything go from there.

Tool, anyone?
Alter Bridge, maybe?
A bit of John Mayer?
Some beethoven sounds delightful, as well.

Fuck off you imposter. I don't need more people pretending to be me or saying I said shit I didn't.

Anyway, interesting read. Pretty sure I don't believe it, but fairly confident I could argue it's case if this were a philosophical debate. It kind of reminds me of the "Subject 37" thing with the dead guy texting from the dead; the odds of it being real are horrendously low. Existant, but low. However in the unlikely event it's true, it's fucking awesome.

I do have to admit though one particular line stuck out as completely awesome to me;

"You’ve now reached the stage where you could hold your own even against dinosaurs."

Take that Spielberg!

Meh, it was ok. The stuff about "reverse engineering" DNA and understanding the grammar and syntax was bollocks.

And God, presumably, would know that the scale he's referring to was proposed by Kardashev, not Asimov.
Is it still a God Complex if I really am God?

America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between.

^^^ If God is all he is cracked up to be, we should assume he is a much better information source than our own history.
...In my opinion.
