I am in a bit of a pickle...I can get a almost brand new (it's been used, but the protection stuff on the pick guard is still on) Gretsch Electromatic Corvette for $350, but I was saving up to get an Epiphone Sheraton 2 also for a low price (I can't remember exactly what). I'm willing to get either of these 2 guitars, and have played the Gretsch (it sounds amazing). I have a Vox AC15CC2 and already have an Epiphone SG 66 reissue, and want to get an Alternative/Indie/Post-Grunge/Pop-Punk sound. Does anybody have any suggestions/comments?
Thanks in advance!

I only watch porn with names that are puns or have alliteration in the title...

The Sheratons are very good guitars, and I have no doubt that the Gretsch is just as good. I would go for the Grestch, but I suggest playing the Epi first. Their semi-hollowbodies can be very surprising!

I can't believe this is even a question! Get the Gretsch! The Sheraton might be a good guitar and all but a Gretsch for $350 is practically a steal. (even the Electromatic series usually don't chart in under $600)

Get the Gretsch is the basic message here, if i were you i'd run to the music shop and wait till it opens (I'm in England so its 20:21)

Ah! I really can't decide. I know it's crazy, but I'm still leaning toward the archtop. I do realize the Gretsch is a once-in-a-lifetime deal, but idk. I also want to do some post-rock stuff, and think the hollowbody Epi would be better for the resonance and stuff. The Corvette is currently at my house (my grandparents brought it over) so it's pretty much calling out to me!

Thanks for the correction.
No, I haven't. But I'm going to get it new, and have played a Epi Dot before and they're almost identical.
I can go to Guitar Center soon and check one out, though. I've only heard good things about em, btw, but does anyone know about the pickup quality?

Epiphone stock pickups aren't usually the best. Sometime down the line, you might want to change them out for something else.

Well....As it turns out, my friend is buying the Gretsch, which is fine with me cuz we're gonna start a new band together and I'll probably get to use it everyonce in a while.
Thanks for the help anyway, even though I didn't get the guitar.
