So I want to play Citizen erased by Muse. In order to do that (and make it sound good) I either need a 7 string guitar or I need to tune my E string down to an A so the tuning consists of AADGBE. The low A is pretty damn low.

Will this cause any damage to the neck of my guitar (Godin Velocity) or the strings????

If you use a thick enough string you can get enough tension. I'd recommend something like a .060

have you ever removed all the strings off of your guitar
that would be worse than low tension
but yeah i recomend you haveing either a 7string or get thicker strings

No, it wouldn't. The only bad thing about taking all the strings off, is that the set up is a pain when you put the strings back on.
Low tension itself isn't bad. However, unbalanced tension is. Which is why you need to make sure you get a string that, when tuned to the A, has the same (or close) tension to the normal string tuned to E, if that makes sense.
