I have a Vox V847a Its out of warranty. It Will not stay in fixed position after I sprayed WD40 in the heel hinge to stop it from squeeking and ive tighten the bolts.
Now, It crackles pretty bad when I rock it.
I'm kind of fed up with it now.
Where can I take it to get repaired?
Or at least what can I do period.
Its not even 2 years old yet.

Thanks in advance

Taking it to a store is not the best idea, taking it to an indepedant tech is a better idea.
If you can't find a tech in your area then a guitar store is fine, but it will most likely cost you more and take more time.

It sounds like it simply needs a new pot. You can buy them already fitted with the actuator spline. If you can solder at all it's not a particularly difficult job.

What Cathbard said. It's a few quick joints. Less than 5 minutes worth of work if you're halfway decent with a soldering iron. 20 max if you've never used one before.

Hot Potz. Try searching for that on ebay.

IIRC the Hot Potz is the same price as the CTS ICAR taper. Might as well make the upgrade.
