Hey so this is the 4th song i've written/posted, all crit is welcome

Please don't abandon me,
In the winter of my heart,
I can still feel the way,
Your eyes burned as bright as embers.
When the world freezes over,
The sight takes my breath away,
And you swear to hold me near to you,
Until my dying day.

They say diamonds last forever,
But you shined just the same,
And every bright endeavor,
Ends with a dying flame.

And on we went through the night,
Breaking up a great black sky,
Dreams of summer gone again,
Because of you, I can fly.
Now the world has frozen over,
No more pools of midnight rain,
And although it's time to rest,
Our love still flows through my veins.

They say diamonds last forever,
But you shined just the same,
And every bright endeavor,
Ends with a dying flame.
