This. Having lived in the south, it's really only when it gets humid that I get annoyed with the weather up here. That said though, we're used to a much wetter, cooler climate even in summer, we have much less of the systems and reserves of things like water and ice to deal with multiple days of 100+ degree heat.

Bullshit. It hits the 90s every summer on the east coast. Boo hoo. Turn it into a goddamn social issue.

Maybe even Earthquake if you go west. 2010 won't be the US's year.

Yeah, Texas doesn't have the humidity that we have. There is a concept of dry heat versus wet heat. Try our wet head sometime and continue saying that.

My own experience of the two is New Mexico and Maryland. New Mexico, hiking for 2 weeks, is a lot nicer than sitting at home in Maryland today.

It is hot as shit outside

But then again, my sister lives in the south where it hits 110 easy and it's way more humid where she is. Soooooo, I'm ok with it.

edit ^ Maryland and Virginia can be just plain brutal sometimes

Yeah, in Canada. The Weather Network said it felt like it was in the 40's with the humidity, which I can definately back up.

This was in Canada. Feel cooler yet?

A fun lesson about that. Don't walk behind a fire truck in 90 degree weather in a parade when you're a cub scout.

Here's a question: Why do American weather reports need to be all flashy and graphicy? Do Americans need that to pay attention to it or something? In Britain it's literally "Here's a map, here are clouds, OH MY GOD WAVY LINE THAT'S NEW".
