I've been wondering what type of guitar to buy as my second electric. I want a guitar that looks metalish, but not anything like a Razorback, or some BC Rich stuff. It should also have the looks to play rock. Here are some things that may help you with helping me. (:

-Price range is around $800
-I like the Gibson LP shape
-I like to play rock/metal
-I like the sunburst colour
-It needs to be accessible easily
-It should be able to fit in most cases

Some guitars I've been looking at are:

-Gibson LP Supreme
-Fender Fat Strat
-Melody Maker

I already have a Sunburst Fender Strat, so that's out of the question.

Post links, and thanks for the advice!
Look at the LTD Eclipses. I'm not 100% of the prices...EC400 maybe? I'm pretty sure they have a sunburst version.

I have a Schecter C-1 Hellraiser and its been amazing for me. It definitely has a metal look but its pretty versatile thanks to its coil taps. It's also right in your price range.

Edit: sorry forgot the link, you can also get it with a floyd rose

Thanks for all the replies, I like the look of the EC400 and the LTD EC401VF.
r0ckth3d34n, I have a VOX VT15 - http://www.voxamps.com/valvetronix/vt-series/

Good luck at finding an EC400. You're only option will be a 401, unless you can find a 400 used.

You might need a new amp. If I'm not mistaken, almost any guitar will sound the same through them. I would suggest something analog.

Try a Peavey Bandit 112 - $300
LTD EC-401 VF - $630

But you could drop down to one of these:
