Just a quick question. I fry my vocals a lot when I sing. By fry I mean going low enough for a crack in my voice. Can this do any damage to my voice?

Also on another note, I've started practising my scream technique. How can I tell if I'm doing damage to my voice? I don't fell any strain from screaming and all tension from it is in my diaphragm rather than my throat.

and this great blue world of ours

If you're doing a correct vocal fry, no, it shouldn't damage your voice. If you're squeezing and straining, you're doing it wrong and you may want to revisit your technique.

This video is funny/lame, but it should give you a decent idea of how to do a good fry.
