The UK Supreme Court has ruled that we can't deport homosexual asylum seekers to countries where their sexuality would put them at risk. Thoughts?

Yeah, 'cos all the other countries in the world criminalise homosexuality, right.

Kinda sad that common sense laws like this actually face opposition.

So you think this is the wrong decision? People get hung for this. We can't send them back to that.

No they dont funnily enough.

i have no issue with people who come to the UK legally, I am aware of the benefits it brings and am all for it.

but those who come here ilegally well, shouldnt be here. using your sexuality should be of no reason to deserve to stay.

EDIT: then if they get hung for it, apply for aslyum legally? then using this new law get in that way, not illegally and then make these claims, and how can you prove your sexuality? the means for testing this are flawed,

that my point, not that its abad thing. it isnt, but they cant prove peoples sexuality can you?

Here's why it should be opposed - the more foreign turd-burglars that come and stay here, the fewer shirt-lifters will be left to fight agauinst the oppression they suffer at home, thus settign back the movement for sexual equality where they come from.
So really, we'd be doing the fart-knockers a favour by increasing their numbers.

Post may contain sarcasm, take seriously only if you're a homo lolololololololol.

So they can die because they neglected to tell an official within the time limit that they wanted asylum?

No he's just saying it's open to exploitation.

Yes, but I'd rather have a few more people living here than risk the alternative.

Not my problem.

All i am trying to say is that this legislation is massively flawed in that you cannot prove a persons sexuality, so how can they decide if they should stay or not?

Once, being very bored, i read an interview with Mick Hucknall, who outlined a procedure for a 'gay test'.
1. Take 2 test subjects
2. Stand them slightly apart, facing each other
3. Dicks out
4. Sucject A begins giving subject B a handjob, and vice versa
5. First guy to get wood is gay

And the real ones will be only to keen to take the test.

Sounds like a good idea.

They didn't come here illegally fool, they came here to claim asylum which is perfectly legal. Their sexuality means they faced and will continue to face threats of death and torture back home. That sounds like a valid reason to grant asylum to me.

Well, if you face execution or torture because someone thinks you might be gay or whatever, that's pretty bad.

I guess it would be a draw if they both got wood at the same time.
But let's be honest, this is Mick Hucknall's plan, and he thought Simply Red was a good idea.

The two guys in the article did yes, I never said it wasnt a valid reason to grant asylum, just that it is open to easy abuse of the terms.

So if a person came here ilegally and "claimed" to be gay, they too would be granted asylum, as there is no way of proving him wrong or right.

that doesnt sit right with me.

Here's another way to investigate someone's sexuality.
Put them in a room with a PC connected to the internet,
Wait and see what porn they look at when they get bored.

So are you also up in arms about straight guys pretending to be gay to abuse the civil union system for tax benefits and whatnot?

There's a shortcut: put them in there with a PC and a Mac. If they turn the Mac on, they are indisputably players of the pink oboe (or I guess brown in this case).

Or ask them how many madonna CDs they have. If the answer is anything else than "none" you've got a gay.

And if they turn the PC on and the first responce is "WINDOWS! Why isn't Linux on this!" you have a virgin.

Brilliant decision that should have been implemented long ago. We should provide asylum to anyone who is at serious risk in their home country and their is no doubt that these individuals are.

You can't just turn up here illegally, then claim asylum when you get caught. That's not how it works.
And presumably you'd have to provide evidence of your persecution.

I'd rather let in a few liars than send a load of gay people back to be murdered.
