I've got two friends, as well as myself, who play metal guitar and I need ideas for metal songs (preferrably thrash/melodic death/progressive, but I'll take what I can get) that we can all play together and I won't have to play bass. Any ideas?

Periphery would be a good bet for progressive metal.

No bass NO METAL

The last thing we need is another guitarist playing bass because he thinks he's "stuck " playing it. They're better off getting a REAL bassist.

1st of all, im pretty sure periphery only has one guitarist.
2nd of all, whitechapel was my first guess (just like the other 2 dudes), but whitechapel uses 7 strings so you would all have to buy 7 strings or tune reeeeally low.

useless information: i HATE whitechapel lol

EDIT: just checked wiki (because ive been plannign on buying periphery's CD) and they do have 3 guitarists.
thats crazy lol i thought bulb was the only one.

white chapel has three guitar players you could do any of their stuff

I'm pretty sure you could do any of their stuff with one guitarist. Or at least it seemed this way when I saw them live. Horrible, muddied sound..

Sorry, I could've sworn I'd read here they don't have a bassist. I don't listen to them or anything, I just thought it was relevant.

Any Maiden song from the last 10 years is written for 3 guitarists, and they've been doing more progressive stuff recently

Well Dethklok has alot of fills, harmonies and solos that you could easily arrange 3 guitar parts. That as well as Maiden.

I don't even know what people see in them. Or deathcore in general.

Not trying to hate or start shit. I understand and appreciate that everybody has different tastes. But it would be nice to know what about the genre do you (the listener) like about it? What about it appeals to you?
