I've been learning a lot more lead guitar recently, and while playing a solo that i've learned or written, it sounds fine.

I am having some trouble getting along with freestyle soloing through scales...It seems to continue sounding the same throughout, kind of bluesy and slow, i just wondered if there's any advice anyone can offer to improve fast freestyle soloing on the higher frets. Cheers.

Listen to and learn things that are in the style that you want to be able to improvise in. Also just doing it so you gain experience as well. Experiment and find what you like or don't like. As for the higher frets, you'll just have to learn the fretboard so you know which notes are the ones you want to hit.
If you mean finger dexterity, just practice playing up there.
