I prefer the tone of a Tele but the feel of a Strat.

It depends on what you do.Stratocasters are really versatile,my preferable weapon of choice but teles give an amazing feel and tone too. It's more in what you play rather than what's better and whatnot.

Telecaster- 2 single coils (usually) and 3 selector switch. Bridge pickup is typically really twangy, neck pick up is really mellow.

Stratocaster- 3 single coils, 5 selector switch. I find you can get a better range of sounds out of a strat, but there are some things a tele can do that a strat can't.

Also, telecasters sometimes have a 3 piece bridge which is notoriously hard to keep intonated. Most modern telecasters have a more strat style bridge though.

pointless vs thread is pointless lol

but i like the tele shape over strat. I'd get a tele with a better than vintage bridge and humbuckers

As an owner of both, even though they're both 21-fret 25.5" scale single-coil Fender guitars with bolt-on necks, it's like comparing a P-Bass and a J-Bass, which as any bassist will tell you, is like comparing apples and oranges, to use an analogy in my analogy. Same concept yes, but very different sounds.

That said, personally I prefer a tele, though I'd hate to just have one.

I feel like the Tele is quite a bit more comfortable to play. The Strat probably has a wider range of possible tones, but I prefer the sound of the Tele as well.

I personally like the Tele, but I feel that the Strat is better suited for a lot more types of music. If I could have a tele neck on a strat body though, that would be the greatest guitar in the world for me.

i find the shape of the tele more pleasing.

i think i prefer a tele bridge or a humbucker over a true single bridge.

exactly this. i also prefer the look of the tele. strats can look awesome, but they're very common. teles are too, but not quite as much.

I'm a Telecaster boy. I love Strats and think they definitely have their specific uses, but I find the personality of a Telecaster very appealing and useable. Great cleans and punchy distortion. Sweet.

My Swing T-through provides me with a versatile guitar with a Tele base too, which means that combines with my Fender, I'm good.

I played both of mine today for about half an hour each. I love the looks of the Strat better, but the playability and the sound out of the Tele. And I like a Bigsby so much better than a Tremolo system as well.

I'd probably go with the Strat, because I've yet to find a Fender-made Strat I didn't love. Superstrats, I hope they all evaporate from the face of the universe, but I love Fender SSS Strats. =P Teles, they're good too, but Iunno, I just don't like the feel...
