What is a pedal that can boost distorted tones and provide a mild crunch for open chords and diad/single note riffs with delay? Maybe some bluesy leads on the neck pickup too. I'm well aware of the good overdrives in the higher price range, but there is reason my nasty Behringer OD400 has a puking icon beside it. It sounds as plastic as it looks (Although, to be fair, it doesn't sound horrible when boosting an already distorted amp with the drive on 0 and the level around 3 oclock).

BBE Green Screamer...yes I'm biased.

Its a tube screamer copy (duh) but I think its slightly hotter, sounds great with humbuckers...really gets going when the amp is overdriven too.

Blackstar and Maxon don't really constitute "cheap" to me. The BBE and TS9 (tried the TS9) seem good but if we can squeeze the price down a bit that would be great. It really is hard for me to try pedals because I have to drive two hours to Guitar Center to try anything beside Behringer.

TS7. Same thing as the TS9 with an added resistor and different output resistors. But it comes with the mojo JRC4558 chip that the 9 doesn't come with. If you wanted to mod it to 808 specs it would take minutes. I wouldn't recommend it though, lots of effort for littles results. You won't hear the difference when used as a boost and the differences when used as an OD are extremely subtle.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Digitech Bad Monkey yet. That seems to be the go to pedal for Tubescreamer on a budget.
