As a disclaimer, I don't listen to punk at all but happened to come across both this thread and this band. Check out some 45 Grave. They aren't straight horror themed but it's there, along with some gothic influences and surf.

Here's a preview, probably their most popular song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyH7G6Lb6iE

It was on the soundtrack for "The Return of the Living Dead" which features different deathrock and punk bands so says wiki, so that may be a good place to look too.

Back in the 70's I decided to take all the frets off Jaco's Bass thinking he would play worse. Man did that backfire.

Blitzkid!!!!
The Other
The Crimson Ghosts
Shadow Reichenstein
Wednesday 13; not exactly what how you feel about it but most people who like horrorpunk seem to like it.
Gorgeous Frankenstein(only because that damn song is stuck in my head for some reason)
Zombeast; they broke up but their music is still good
Calabrese
Michale Graves
The Death Riders; they kind of dance on the line of horrorpunk
Devil Doll |
Rezurex |
koffin Kats | more psychobilly but good music
horror Pops |
Tiger Army |
Spyder Baby; in the same vein as Wednesday 13
The Spook

Check out WORLDHORRORNETWORK.COM and http://www.fiendforce.de/

Those two places are where I've found most of the horrorpunk bands I love but can't seem to think of since I haven't listened to much horrorpunk since I got into rock and roll
Yes, I'm from California, yes I like Hockey, no I do not like the Ducks, yes I like the Kings!

So a little off topic, I just left a show at a bar and we got cut off for sound level and offending customers after playing the misfits' Skulls and Die, Die my Darling. It was awesome

Nashville's own Creeping Cruds. Check 'em out------>Crud's Myspace The lead guitar player and drummer were in a punk band back in the 80's in Florida called The Roids and the singer was in a band from Saint Louis back in the late 70's called The Zanti Misfits. I'd say they are more Horror C*ck Rock than Horror punk. But they put on a hell of a show and are damn fun. One of my favorite bands to play shows with.

The Misfits are the only ones I know, because My Chemical Brothers covered Astro Zombies.

Metallica are a great horror band though, they wrote a song called Die Die Die My Darling.

Really good. Don't forget to recycle the solo to We are 138, like use it in EVERY song, to the point of abuse.

I was about to respond with "the misfits have one good album and... well..." but I suppose a more sincere reply would include The Flesh Eaters, Christian Death, The Cramps... Depending on how much you stretch the definition of "horror punk" (and I'm already taking some pretty serious liberties) you can catch a few pretty good bands under the term.

Jordan, I feel I should inform you that this is a 3 year old thread and the guy who started it is probably dead.

I'm sorry.
