I know the bassist of nofx, fat mike plays with a pick a hell of alot, and i know he used one on maximum rocknroll, but the next album, liberal animation. im not sure if use using a really round ass pick or his fingers on songs like Mr.Jones and Shutup Already. if you can help me out, i'd be eternally greatfull. ill put the links to some of the songs i need to tones for.

What would be the best bass string size to play something like Slipknot

No strings. If you're playing Slipknot, you don't deserve strings.

Back then, as he's showcasing in the vid, Fat Mike used a Fender P bass with a pick. He curently uses a Danelectro due to back problems.

But if you want that old NOFX tone:

Fender P bass w/a pick -> ampeg w/ the mids boosted -> 10" speakers

Specifically, i believe it's a 70's Ampeg tube head and an 8x10.

ta-da!
