OK Pit, the UK (particularly the east) is experiencing some pretty hot weather. It's just gone past midnight and my room is still boiling, all windows are open and I'm still too hot. I can't have a cold shower as parents are now asleep and don't want to wake them. I don't have an electric fan (or air conditioning, but then again, who does in the UK?).

I need ways to cool down!

Give me suggestions Pit, MS paint them if you must.

inb4: You think its hot in the UK?! It's ____ Degrees C/F here in ____________!
30 degrees C is hot for the UK

I'm with you TS. My clock's thermometer says it's 32.1 celsius in here, and I'm feeling it. Windows are wide open, have a huge fan on its highest setting (the noise from which is giving me a headache) and to top it off I'm in my birthday suit.

It just isn't really helping. UK too, by the way.

The heat in arizona is surprisingly way better than that of the east coasts, or the coasts beyond thine east coast!

No humidity bitches! 103 degrees and I can play football without dying of thirst!

You should just take a cold bath so you dont wake your parents.

Yeah i'm feelin this heat too
I know the UK isn't the hottest but we're certainly not accustomed to it and we like to have a good whine haha.

Bath of ice should cool you down though...

Can you get to a walmart to buy a 20 inch box fan? They're very cheap there. And try stripping.

... I don't think an 8 hour flight is quite the quick solution I'm looking for.

sleep naked? dont use a blanket? use a THINNER blanket? open a window?

I'm not even trying to sleep! I'm just sitting on top of my bed (now naked in order to try and lose a bit more body heat)

Anyway, don't you heathens have air conditioning?
If not, shorts and no shirt + a cold beverage. Always works

Hell, i kind of like the heat. It's been in the mid to high 90's here and I haven't really been bothered.

What other countries don't understand is that we're not used to it. Thus our bodies haven't adapted to it that well. I.E. We're all fat.

Like the people of a country stereotyped for having igloos as houses are adapted to it.

Whenever I'm in that situation (it's really not that bad in Bristol, I'm even wearing socks) I wet some tissue paper/a towel and dab it on my forehead and palms of hands and neck, it works to cool you down a bit.

Unless it's really humid too.

Ooh or do that and fan yourself, works double as well.

I am not fat

We're not used to high temperatures and it is also quite humid over here; I'm sure any of you lot would feel it too after becoming acclimatised.

We don't have enough hot weather to need air conditioning in England. Big waste of money. (Also, it's expensive)

edit: Just checked latest observations, 70% humidity. Bleh.

Sucks, it's currently 75 degrees in my house

Really, drink a lot of water and try to get as much air as you can circulating.

Edit: try 100%

Happens after storms, sweating ceases to cool you off and hot water running over your genitals during a ball game doesn't feel so good.

I am envious of your guy's lack of water

Monsoon season is coming next week. That means heavy hurricane like rains for 2 months straight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI7tEfwTwT0&feature=related

The humidity is going to come along with that.

Around 43 degrees in Toronto yesterday

Well, based on what my activities have consisted of over the last few days, I could quite readily give you a list of what NOT to do TS, because I've just about boiled myself up.
West of UK here btw, and to all of you Amerifags....stop compounding your idiotic stereotype. Who cares if its however many 100 degrees over there. I've sat in 46 degree heat in Barcelona and been absolutely fine. But 32 degrees in the UK is horrible. The humidity is currently curb stomping the sky, and the pollen count is playing buggers with my eyes and sinuses. Tiznt fun.
Im yet to do anything other than play GTA while drinking warm cider and the occasional trip outside. Nothing works.

even if it were 78 F outside I'd still want air conditioning. It's like oxygen.

It's a really nice evening - sleep outside! Or at least go outside for a bit.

And put your pillow in the fridge/freezer whilst out there - best feeling in the world on a hot sweaty night.
