Hey everyone, I'm brand new here, i found this site off of google since i was looking for some help finding a guitar. I have several questions if thats okey and i'm totally new when it comes to guitars so please bear with me,

Basically i'm looking for a good beginner guitar under $180 that i can play or take anywhere i want. I'm unsure of the differences in a lot of guitars and trying to research it just confuses me. My dad is an avid guitar player, but hes a country guitarist, and not much help when it comes to picking out an electric guitar.

But basically what i'm looking for is an electric guitar to elarn how to play. I'm interested in a guitar that would give me the kind of sound used in songs like "Staind - Right Here" or "Nickleback - Photograph" or even "Chris Daughtry - Used To". I've managed to find 3 guitars that might be possible to do this so i was wondering if maybe any of these might be what i'm looking for.

Epiphone LP Special II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony http://www.amazon.com/Epiphone-Special-Collection-Electric-Guitar/dp/B0002CZUUG/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1SRYST177F2HA&colid=BYB18MIO3Y8

Gibson Maestro Single Cutaway Electric Guitar http://www.amazon.com/Gibson-Maestro-Electric-Amplifier-Electronic/dp/B002ZDOFAG/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2DMXFOUQHESX8&colid=BYB18MIO3Y8

Epiphone SG Special Electric Guitar http://www.amazon.com/Epiphone-Special-Electric-Guitar-Ebony/dp/B0002D01IQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I37C20BOMXLTHO&colid=BYB18MIO3Y8

Would Any of those guitars fit into what i'm looking for? if there's is, whats the difference between it and the others? Anyways thanks for helping out a total newbie!

Go to a guitar store, it's not a good idea to buy a guitar without trying it unless you're an experienced player who's tried a lot of gear.

Say you're a beginner interested in a Les Paul or SG guitar for $180 and try out as a many as you can to decide what you like best.

Yea i can understand what your trying to say, but i've never used a guitar more then a couple of times so i'm not sure what would make me think this is better over the others.

My dad has a coupler of smaller amps that buddies of his have given him so thats not really a big deal. If i need anything like guitar stands, cords, etc either i'll just buy them separate to get a better quality one or i should have one already.
