A friend of mine wants to trade his Jackson DK6 COW (all stock, black color), for an LTD EX351 with EMG 81/85 pups. Is this a good trade, value-wise?

I think he wants to end up selling whichever he has at the end, so which one would he make more buck off of in the used market?

In the netherlands btw. I d apreciate if someone could tell me how many euros he could get for selling each of them used. Just for a starting/suggestive price or whatever...

Thanks!

EDIT: Its the diamond plate version of the 351 btw.

General rule of ESP LTD's is not to go anything lower than there 400 sereis. Plus Jackson>ESP LTD.

Yeah, heard that before, but like i said it all comes down to second hand value...

Do you think he could sell the DK6 for more than the EX351?

Really? Do you really want to have this conversation?

Also TS, I would think that the DK6 is worth a little more than the EX351, but I can't say for sure. I can't find much info on those particular models.

I'd take a LTD over a jackson anyday, Just my experience with jacksons imo.

Ok, so so far we think that the DK6 is worth more than the EX351D?

It is a sig guitar after all, and made in japan, as opposed to the korean made EX351...

Go play the EX351 See which one you like better imo

While the jackson might be worth more.. you might not find it to be the better guitar out of the two, Just because it's "worth" more doesn't make it a better guitar for you.

Word of warning from the FX-256 series guitar it does neck dive a bit while standing which can be a fsking pain.

Neither of them are mine, and i wont be playing on them, they re a friend's.

Also he wants to sell them, so the raw value of the guitar is the issue here.

Thanks for the input tho

I'd keep the LTD. The Jackson only has one humbucker. At least with the LTD, you have the older EX model and two humbuckers for more tones.

I'd say that the flexibility and tone is more important than value in most cases. Regardless of the price of the Jackson, it's almost just a lesser guitar.

I found the DK6 COW for $799.99. I believe the EX351D retailed over $600.
