Hey guys!
just bought a new fender stratocaster secondhand from my local shop.
i was looking at som websites to find when it was made, i think its fairly new.

however i can find its serial number anywhere on websites! its MZ8 then 6 numbers
is this normal?

Yeah that's normal. have you tried typing the serial # in at guitardaterproject.org?

My strat matches up like that. Obviously different numbers. Although mine is a '98 and starts with MN8. My guess is that each year the second letter has gone up one (i.e. '99 was MO, 00 was MP) not really sure, but if yours is a 2010 that would match up, seeing how N and Z are 12 away (12 year difference).

Of course though, thats prob wrong. I just noticed that.

But like the other guy said, that website works.
