I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place for this. Sorry if I got it wrong.

So I'm just gonna come out and say I don't know very much at all about whammy bars, locking nuts, etc. So any advice will probably help.

I've got a Peavey Falcon with a Kahler whammy bar on it. I just got it today and it's used. I started ripping out some divebombs and stuff and noticed it was getting out of tune pretty fast. I'm constantly having to re-do the fine tuners. The guitar has a locking nut, but I can't tell if it's on right or not, as I don't really know anything about them. This is the first guitar I've owned with a whammy, so I've never had any experience with them before.

Can anyone tell me what might be causing it to get out of tune?
My guess is that the locking nut might be loose. Can they come loose?
I would greatly appreciate some advice on this situation! Thanks!!!

it might be the locking nut...

what i would do is visit the Ultimate Guitar Set QnA sticky and then report back if you are still having trouble. Technically this belongs in EG.

make sure you use the reverse tie off method for securing strings on a tuner peg.
