Ok, so.
A while back, my bass amp started crapping out on me. Bassicaly (heh) it's distorted to the point of fuzz, and there's a drop in volume. I thought it might be the speaker, because i heard that if the speaker cone is torn it would sound distorted, but i took out the speaker and it looked fine. It's a crate BX-100, solid state.

I've had problems with it before as well. It used to stop working intermittently, but i took it to a tech and he fixed it.

What should i do?

Usually the speaker would have visible damage, but sometimes there could be internal damage, like a cracked voice coil. Do you have another speaker cab to connect it to to rule that out?

Edit: Just plug in headphones.

*facepalm*
thats an excellent idea

edit: Actually, i can't. The headphone jack is a 1/4 inch jack and i don't have a converter for my headphones.
