in a dreadnaught--is koa wood as good a sound--does it bring out the "bassy" effect as rosewood???

Guitars with real Koa aren't cheap, so if it's an inexpensive guitar that you're referring to, be aware of what you're really buying.

yes, koa is a good thing - a very good thing, at least, to my ears. does it bring out the bass? no. koa is one of the best sounding woods to me. while i usually prefer lots of bass, koa is more midrangy, but the sound is very sweet. of course, as with any wood, how much bass can also depend on the maker and size/shape of the guitar, but when i compare the same exact guitars in koa vs rosewood, the rosewood guitars have more bass.
^ WTF is THAT all about? Doesn't sound like it has a thing to do with guitars to me.
^ it's some ad men trying to make money on the internet.
