So,
as i continue to search for a new amp,ive come upon this one.
Seemingly apretty great sounding 15w tube modeller, for 300$.
And now i ask you, whats the catch?
Is it really as good as it seems?
The amps i was looknig in comparison to is the new ENGL Gigmaster.BIG price diffrence.
So,what makes the super champ XD better for me than the engl?
Whats the catch about it?

EDIT: i forgot,i play alt and hard rock, metal and some punk

Super Champ XD is a fantastic amp. Great sound, reliable, easy to use, cheap. There was a time when I had my heart set on one.

The only reason I didn't get one was because of it's tubes breaking up at the high volumes I tend to play at. After more thorough testing, I really didn't care for the way it's tubes distorted.

But for practice and recording purposes? If I need one, it'll be at the top of my list.

I can't say if it's as good or better than the ENGL. What makes the SCXD so great is the wide variety of tones. And IMO the SCXD sounds more like a tube amp with decent pedals than a modeler. So you basically get a 15 watt tube amp with couple hundred dollars worth of distortion and overdrive pedals, plus some limited but usable FX in a $300 amp that's easily totable. At least that's how I would characterize it. YMMV
