A WORK IN PROGRESS

I wrote hymns and sermons
Not to make you kneel,
But to let you know
Exactly how I feel.
Wrote this song for radio
No I'm not a sell out,
But I would sell my soul
To buy you a new house

One day I'll write a song about you
It'll be the best I ever wrote,
'Cause you deserve nothing less
You're the best I've ever known.

Here's a page from a bible,
Here's a thank-you letter,
Here's another reason why,
We ought to be together.
All those other boys
Had such narrow points of view;
They're content to see some skin
I won't rest 'til your dreams come true.

One day I'll write a song about you
It'll be the best I ever wrote,
'Cause you deserve nothing less
You're the best I've ever known.

I like the way you don't beat-around-the-bush and just say exactly what your song is about. Yet, its not very cliche or cheesy at all. Good work
