Hey. I'm thinking of getting a Schecter solo-6 but I dnt know if it's a good guitar or not I've seen it in a few shops and it looks amazingg. The reason for getting this guitar is bcuz tuning my synyter custom to different timings is a hassle for me so I want a guitar that would be easir to tune. I would mostly kep it in drop d and c. I'm also looking for a good amp..

So to all of you that might help.. Thanks in advance

Yeah, which?...But a quick musiciansfriend.com search shows this...http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schecter-Guitar-Research-Hellraiser-Solo6-Electric-Guitar?sku=580155, and it makes me salivate a bit. The wood of that guitar, Mahogany, makes it good for lower tunings like Drop C. It also has EMGs in it for a lot of punch. (I prefer Seymour Duncan Blackouts to EMGs, cuz I think they're less muddy. But... ) Got 24 frets. Prolly pretty close to what you're looking for.

Btw, price range? And do you have a specific mode of Solo-6 you're looking at?

Oh sorry forgot to put the model.. The one in the link is actually the one I was looking at. So by what you said I think it would be a good buy? And for the price range about $1000 I'm sure that's good for what I'm considering to buy.

Try everything possible in your price range. You may find something you like more.

+1 above!

I don't want to star naming brands, but in the price range, you could find some really great guitars and a lot of variety based on your playing style and preferneces.

Don't limit yourself to something that looks cool or just looks strong on paper.

Actually, can you please name a few brands or guitars that would be good for playing metal/metalcore songs? As I said above I'm gonna keep it in drop d/c so it's gotta be easy to tune. Thanks!

That Solo-6 will flawlessly play what you want it to. Almost any Hellraiser or Blackjack Schecter will play metal/metalcore stuff.

Also, the LTD EC-1000, MH-1001 and basically anything in the 1000's by LTD will play that stuff easily, too.

Metalcore bands.... hmmm... I have a few:

We Came as Romans
A Static Lullaby
Attack Attack!
Asking Alexandria
I Set My Friends on Fire
Miss May I
Our Last Night
Abandon All Ships
Drop Dead Gorgeous
From First to Last
Sky Eats Airplane

...and that's about it off the top of my head.

What kind of amp do you have? Maybe you'd want to spend some money on a good amp and try this:

Budget? I'd reccomend you look in to Ibanez, Jackson and ESP/LTD depending on your budget.

I have a peavey amp but it's no good.. I'm was thinking of getting rid of it and buying this Line 6: http://musiciansfriend.com/product/Line-6-Spider-IV-150-150W-2x12-Guitar-Combo-Amp?sku=620212
I've had my eye on this one for a while I just never had enough money until now. I heard this is a great amp that has many different effects.

For $500, you can get a better amp. The effects aren't all that great at all.

This would be better, especially for EMG's:
http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Bugera-V55-55W-1x12-Tube-Guitar-Combo-Amp?sku=502584

If you can, this amp would be even better. Very good pricing on the used ones:

No prob

I'm saving up for that Schecter in Crimson Red or Dark Metallic Blue. I have a Peavey Bandit in my room right now. I paid half that and other half of it was a birthday present, it'll work for me until I get the cash for a 6505+ half stack

I'm buying it used... it'll cost me around $1,000.......

I'm getting it in black. The bandit sounds pretty good my friend has one of those.. And I don't think I could buy a half stack without parents pitching in a few hundred bucks
