So when I pick up my amp head and set it down, it rattles. When I have it in the back seat of my car, it rattles. It has done this forever, I just never knew what caused it. It sounds like someone beating a tin can with a pencil. Is it the reverb tank? WTF? Its just very annoying. I cant move it and set it down without the rattle.

Just remember, those springs are connected to their anchor point by a fragile piece of wire. When you hear them rattling around when you move it you aren't doing it any favors. They do break, believe me, and it's usually due to mechanical abuse (like a roady riding your combo down a ramp into the truck like it was some sort of bob-sled). The reverb tank is the most fragile part of the whole amp. Treat it with care.

makes me wonder why we even bother with roadies...

For my part - bone idle laziness
