Neil Zaza's I'm Alright, but plenty of people will be playing that I suppose.

Oh, and guitar is not a competition. What's the purpose of the competition, really?
#3
Guitar skills competition?

Try some Sunn O))), you'll blow them away with the sonic fury.
#4
You can win a guitar and some other stuff. And i forgot to mention i only have 1 minute to play.

EDIT

you have to do it solo? cause i would say acdc thunderstruck. i dont care who you are, that riff takes effort. and you have to do it the whole song. any time i try it is never as smooth as the real song. nobody ive ever heard can do it as smooth as the song.

the last in line - dio. elegant finger picking in the intro, and some of the best harmonics ive ever heard in that song, and that solo is amazing. vivian campbell is an amazing guitarist.

Try some Tommy Emmanuel if you really want to impress. Metal will sound a bit naff without a backing track.

i know there is controversey about dragon force, but dont they still play thier stuff live? it cant be 100% fake can it?

little wing by hendrix, quite technical, pretty short. Play it well and people will love you!

Cacophony - Concerto

Not sure how hard it is, but if you have practice sweep picking it might be manageable.

And it sounds f*cking awesome.

Jeff Loomis. Nuff said.
Most of my grindcore inspiration comes from my hard drive.

Jimi Hendrix - Little wing would be perfect. its very short, sounds great and demonstrates a lot of technical ability.

I assure you its brilliant!

Try Jack Thammarat. He won Guitar Idol 2009 with his original and that was no luck!

Im pretty sure i can use a backing track. I kinda want to write my own thing. And btw, the contest is the 31st.

And we'll be judged by musicians, on:
Difficulty
How well we play.

If you can do this I'd definitely do it(I tried it and broke after the first, like, 20 notes, but it sounds absolutely AMAZING. There's harmonies though, so you'd need a backing track). And I've always liked Megadeth's Into The Lungs Of Hell, and that one doesn't sound too hard. =P

Nah, I prefer to tune lower. My tunings usually go into weird Hebrew symbols.

They are 100% real. I hate it when people say 'DragonForce can't play live etc......' Thats becaue they messed up entire of Glaspop 2006 because they couldnt hear them selves properly. If you look in their video's now there accurate.

Anyways, can;t you improvise your stuff?

I agree, I was gonna say Little Wing, too.

If you can play it through or even the first minute with-out making mistakes you should be set.... maybe
