Ok, so I know this may be a noob question, but I'm confused.

I got s new net-book today (hooray), it's a Samsung NB30.

When I go onto "Computer" it says a5t the bottom that I have 1 GB memory. However, if I click on C: it says that I have 108 GB free space.

How much memory do I really have? Can I really just put 3 movies on my net-book and the memory's full? Or do I actually have 108 GB for music and films?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Not much, Laptops can be a big purchase.

The 1GB is probably referring to your RAM, the 108GB is your actual available memory for storing things like music, etc.

Your netbook has 1GB of Random Access Memory, different from the allotted space on your disk.

You have 108 GB on your hard disk for whatever you want. Music, movies, etc.

Ok thanks guys....SO what is the 1 GB for?

Shared memory that programs need to run. In basic terms it acts as a placeholder for information while something is being used.

The 1 GB is your RAM. Random Access Memory. Basically, it's how much stored data your computer can work with at the same time. More RAM allows for smoother multitasking and faster game loading.

Random access memory stores the data of programs and applications that are currently in use by the computer system
