Check your impedances. If they match, you should be good to go.

EDIT: Didn't see your other thread on this. You could have just asked this question within your other thread instead of creating this.
Fender American Vintage '62 Stratocaster
Gibson Les Paul Custom
TC Electronic Polytune
Danelectro Blue Paisley
EHX Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker
Dunlop Crybaby
EHX Deluxe Memory Boy

You can feasibly run any head into any cab as long as the impedances match. Next important thing is making sure the cab is rated for a higher wattage than the head.

Two V30s is 120 watts handling power total. You'll be fine. Of course, if you were diming the head, that wouldn't work...

How do you say "I'm okay" to an answering machine?

Isn't diming the head not a problem if the cab is > or = to the RMS wattage of the head?

Say I get an avatar 2x12 with v30's (planning on doing this) which is 120w RMS handling.

My 5150 II is 120w RMS handling.

From what i know, if I dime my head, I wouldn't be overloading the cab, correct? Seeing as how the wattage = each other.
Gear:
Ibanez RG4EXFM1
Peavey 5150II All Tube 120w Head
Avatar contemporary 2x12 (Celestion v30's)
Peavey Vypyr 15w (Fantastic Practice Amp!!!)

Got Djent?

they say your cab should be rated at 1 1/2 the wattage of your head. So if you have a 50 watt head, it'd be good to have your cab rated at atleast 75-100 watts

in your case i believe the valveking is 100 watts, so make sure you cab is rated around 150 watts

^why would diming the amp be a problem. Srsly?

a Valveking? The VK cab sucks as you know. Avatar cabs rock. Not sure about V30s tho......did you find one used?

Not used but new direct from Avatar are a pretty sweet deal! What should i put instead V30's? I play Metalcore and need speakers that can handle the mids

v30's are fine... if you dont want a harsh tone (ppl say new v30's are harsh), get the hellatone 60's, which are slightly broken in v30's.

btw, nick hipa (As I Lay Dying) uses avatar cabs. Contemporary w/ v30's.

Yeah i saw that lol, one of the reasons im leaning towards the v30's. Maybe a V30 and a G12T-75?

Cause the VK's OT sucks ass, that's why. It'll mud up beyond belief.

The speaker's will handle it fine, the amp wont. Stupid ass shitty OT's.
