Has no one mentioned A Silver Mt Zion??

Also, there are francophones in Canada, you know. Add Malajube and Karkwa.

just saw him live in halifax, it was awesome. kind of like mgmt/passion pit with win butler singing.

His live show is freaking cool, too. Lots of video and all that jazz.

On the topic of Halifax:

Gamma Gamma Rays
York Redoubt
New Providence
Tomcat Combat

I love how TS felt it was necessary to put the country beside the name of each band.

I was just about to comment about that.

And I wouldn't say Canada has "a lot" of talent. We have an average amount of talent and an unbelievable amount of mediocrity.

Currently one of my favorite indie rock singer songwriters. Also, I hugged him.

Treelines is a great band too. Very canadian-sounding.

This very summer i actually saw a Mother mother concert, a Dan Mangan Concert, a We are the City concert, and a Said the Whale concert. All in 3 days. (Vancouver 125 free live concerts)
I also saw a bit of New Pornographers, but i left cause they were doing pretty bad.

Women are really good, Chad VanGaalen produced both of their albums I think. The Viet Cong project that started post-Women is good too
