Ok could someone instruct me on the best technique for playing octaves? lets say an octave on the A string and G string..now i experimented with alot of ways like using my pinky and index and my middle finger to lay on the E string so it doesnt ring out but i just get a weird noise lol..what is the best way to play an octave so u can look good on stage and dont have ur e string buzzin out

sounds like you're asking about muting the strings that you're not playing

You rest your index finger on the bottom of the E string slightly and at an angle so it mutes the D string as well. That how I do it anyways.

Index : A
Middle : E(Mute)
Ring : G

D get muted it self .
Touch B with Middle finger a lil , place your pinky on e or your palm can also do it ...

Thats how i do it perfectly ...
Though i suggest you look for you own way with which you are comfortable.
