What exactly is this thing capable of? I'm in search of a killer metal tone like Killswitch Engage, but can go clean. I somewhat gave up on the Peavey 6505+ so what are your guys thoughts of the Hughes and Kettner Switchblade 100 Head?

wrong, it's a programmable head with 128 slots for sounds. it has four channels, clean, crunch, lead, and ultra. i've played it a couple times and every time i was very impressed. yes it'll give you the killswitch engage tone, and the clean is very clean indeed. don't bother getting the switchblade tsc head, the tubes they put in their amps are very reliable

go to their website, check out some sound clips

no, it's four channels. not from the triamp. your thinking of the duotone, which doesn't have midi

the tsc system is the tube safety control. it basically makes sure the bias is at it's optimum level for each power tube. in the event of a tube failure it will switch off the corresponding pair, taking the amp down to 50 watts and keeping your amp running during a show. but like i said, these amps are very reliable, i've owned my triamp for more than 2 years now and haven't had a single problem. so if you're on a budget, go for the normal switchblade
